Our ABA Therapy Process
-
Authorization
To enroll your child in ABA therapy with us, please contact your primary care physician to request a referral with Independence ABA. Upon receipt of your doctor’s referral, we will contact your insurance provider to confirm our assessment. Please note that this process may take up to two weeks.
-
Assessment
We will schedule a “meet & greet” at your residence to conduct our initial assessment where we will interview caregivers so that we may better understand the needs of your learner. During our second visit, we will discern his/her skill sets and preferences to devise a list of target goals for their future therapy sessions.
-
Treatment with Ongoing Progress Monitoring
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will provide one-on-one ABA therapy in your home on a weekly basis, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Your BCBA will continue to reassess your learner along the way, ensuring that the program we curate progresses steadily. The present BCBA will also provide necessary, ongoing training for your RBT.
-
Caregiver Training
A BCBA will meet with you regularly to discuss your learner’s specific needs, explain the procedures and help you better understand how to implement them on a day to day basis. We will work with you, just as much as your learner, to find practical solutions for everyday life so that you feel comfortable, confident and capable.
-
Reassessment every 6 months
Every six months, we will create a progress report to send to your insurance provider that includes an updated assessment and report on our therapy goals with your learner. We will continue to adapt your child’s behavior plan as necessary, and ensure we have your full consent for any and all new procedural changes.
